Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of EditorBuddy, the AI video-editing service at editorbuddy.com, including its website, app and API (the “service”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.

EditorBuddy is in early access. It's free to use today and we don't take payments. Features may change, break or be removed as we build. If we ever introduce paid plans, we'll update these terms first and nothing will be charged without your agreement.

You must be at least 13 years old to use EditorBuddy. Keep your sign-in details secure; you're responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.

You keep ownership of everything you upload and of the outputs we produce from it. You give us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, copy, process and transmit your content, including through the service providers named in our Privacy Policy, only as needed to run the service for you: performing edits, generating transcripts and captions, and publishing to YouTube when you ask us to. This license ends when you delete the content or your account.

You confirm that you have the rights needed to upload your content and to have it processed this way, including the consent of people who appear or are heard in it.

You agree not to:

• upload or create illegal content, or use the service to break the law;
• upload content you don't have the rights to use;
• use the service to harass people or to impersonate or deceive, including misleading deepfakes;
• upload malware or anything designed to attack the service;
• reverse-engineer the service, scrape it, get around usage limits, or resell access;
• overload or disrupt the service, for example with excessive automated requests.

Edits, transcripts, captions and other outputs are generated by AI and can be wrong: misheard words, awkward cuts, captions that miss the point. Review everything before you publish it. You're responsible for what you choose to publish.

If you publish to YouTube through EditorBuddy, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Stock footage and music added to your edits come from third-party libraries and remain subject to their license terms.

You can stop using EditorBuddy at any time, and email us to have your account deleted. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, abuse the service or put other users at risk, with notice where practical.

During early access the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. It may be interrupted, and data may be lost, so keep your own copies of original footage.

To the extent the law allows, EditorBuddy isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim arose.

We may update these terms as the service changes. We'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If you keep using EditorBuddy after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
